Product Overview

The QWR Fire Collars are engineered for sealing plastic pipe penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors. Constructed from a flexible stainless steel shell containing high-performance graphite-based intumescent material, the collar reacts to heat by exerting pressure on the pipe. This forms a carbonaceous char that blocks fire from passing through, providing essential fire protection. The collar is equipped with built-in fixing lugs for secure installation to the structure, ensuring a safe and durable solution for fire containment.

Installation Information

The QWR Fire Collar should be used where plastic pipes penetrate fire-rated walls or floors. For vertical pipework, install one collar to the underside of the floor, and for horizontal pipework, install one collar on both sides of the wall.

To ensure optimal performance, the surface of the wall must be clean and free of debris. Any irregularities between the collar and the wall or pipe should be filled with QuelStop Intumescent Acrylic Sealant.

If holes are drilled too large, additional materials such as QF2 Fire Protection Compound or QuelStop Fire Batt may be required.

Installation Procedure:

1. Secure the collar around the pipe by aligning the tongues on one end with the slots on the other end, bending the tongues back.
2. Fix the collar to the structure using the correct fasteners through all the lugs.
3. For concrete and masonry: M8x60mm steel sleeve anchors

• For plasterboard fire-rated partitions: through bolts or M6x65mm steel hollow wall anchors
• For QuelStop Fire Batt: steel pigtail screws

Ensure all lugs are used for securing the collar as failure to do so may compromise the fire protection.
