Control Options

The EKA NI features a wall-mounted setpoint controller that connects to a duct-mounted temperature sensor.

How it Works:
The heater operates based on the duct sensor
The supply air temperature sensor ensures safe heating within +15°C to +40°C range

Overheating Protection

Built-in safety thermostats prevent overheating:
Automatic Reset: Turns off at 50°C, restarts when below 50°C
Manual Safety Reset: Turns off at 100°C – requires manual intervention

If overheating occurs, identify the cause, fix it, and press the RESET button on the heater’s cover.

  • What are MVHR heaters and water coils used for?

    MVHR heaters and water coils are used within compatible ventilation systems to help heat or temper air as it passes through the ductwork.

  • What is the difference between an electric duct heater and a water coil?

    An electric duct heater uses electrical energy to heat air within the duct. A water coil uses heated or chilled water from a suitable system to transfer heat to or from the air passing through the coil.

  • Can a duct heater be retrofitted to an existing MVHR system?

    In some systems, yes, but the heater must be compatible with the airflow, controls and electrical or heating system. The MVHR manufacturer's requirements should be checked first.

  • Do water coils need a direct connection to a boiler or heat pump?

    A water coil requires a suitable heated or chilled water circuit and associated controls. The exact connection will depend on the heating or cooling system design.
