Performance & Installation

Solid Rigid Ducting – Superior airflow performance compared to flexible PVC or aluminium ducts.
Compliant with Part F Regulations – Ideal for efficient ventilation systems.
Sealed Connections – For best performance, apply plastic ducting sealant and aluminium duct sealing tape for airtightness. Simply apply sealant to the male fitting, push together, and seal with tape.
Faster Installations – Use self-sealing fittings to save up to 70% of installation time.

Insulation & Condensation Prevention

To prevent condensation in colder areas (e.g., loft spaces), ensure insulation with 25mm thick material (thermal conductivity of 0.04W/m·K or lower).

  • Insulated ducting is also necessary for intake and exhaust legs, especially when carrying cold air in warmer environments.
  • Use 25mm rockwool duct wrap with a silver foil face for optimal insulation.
  • Bubble wrap insulation is no longer compliant with building control regulations.

Available Sizes

100mm
125mm
150mm

(For larger ductwork, metal spiral ducting is recommended for enhanced strength.)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is rigid PVC ductwork used for?

Rigid PVC ductwork is used to move air through a ventilation system. It is commonly used with extractor fans, MVHR systems, MEV units and other domestic or light commercial ventilation installations.

  • What is the difference between round and rectangular PVC ducting?

Round PVC ducting is often used where space allows for a direct duct run, while rectangular ducting can be useful where height or space is limited, such as above ceilings, in cupboards or through tight areas.

  • Can rigid PVC ductwork be used with MVHR systems?

Rigid PVC ductwork can be used in some MVHR installations, depending on the system design and duct layout. For best results, duct sizing and routing should match the ventilation design.
