Key Features

Durable Galvanized Metal – Constructed from high-quality galvanized steel for lasting performance
Compatible with Round Pipe or Flexible Hose – Features two male spigots for easy connection
Versatile Application – Suitable for ventilation systems, kitchen extractors, bathroom fans, HVAC, air conditioning, and more
UK Manufactured – Built with top-quality materials for enhanced durability
Compliant with Building Regulations – Meets Part F Building Regulations for superior performance

Performance

  • Superior Airflow Performance: Metal ducting delivers better airflow than comparable sized flexible PVC or aluminium ducts.
  • Stronger Ducting: Ideal for larger ductwork, providing enhanced strength and performance in demanding systems.

Compatibility

  • Galvanized Steel Spiral Ducting: Works best with galvanized steel spiral ducting (P100M-1).
  • Compatible with Other Leading Brands: Compatible with most other UK manufacturers' galvanized metal ducting.

Installation

  1. Apply duct sealant to the male fitting.
  2. Push the components together.
  3. Apply aluminium duct sealing tape over the joint to ensure airtightness.

Insulation of Ductwork

  • Loft Spaces: Insulate ducting in cold areas, like lofts, with 25mm thick insulation having a thermal conductivity of 0.04W/(m.k) or lower.
  • Non-Loft Spaces: Insulate intake and exhaust legs by wrapping them in 25mm duct wrap with a silver foil face or 25mm rockwool.
  • Note: Foil wrap with air bubbles (bubble wrap) is no longer applicable under current building control regulations.

Available Sizes

  • 125mm
  • 150mm
  • 180mm

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is metal ductwork used for?

Metal ductwork is used to move air through a ventilation system. It can be used with MVHR, MEV, extractor fans and other ventilation installations where a strong and durable duct run is required.

  • What metal ductwork fittings are available?

Metal ductwork systems may use bends, couplings, reducers, adaptors, dampers, T pieces and other fittings depending on the duct route and installation requirements.

  • Can metal ductwork be used with MVHR systems?

Yes, metal ductwork can be used with some MVHR systems, depending on the design and installation requirements. The duct size and layout should match the ventilation design.

  • What is the difference between metal and PVC ductwork?

Metal ductwork is strong and durable, making it suitable for certain ventilation layouts and installations. PVC ductwork is lightweight and commonly used for domestic extractor fan and ventilation routes.
