Product Overview
Metal Reducers are high-quality galvanized metal fittings designed to reduce or enlarge duct sizes to ensure compatibility between different duct sections. These male spigot reducers fit inside round metal ducting and provide a seamless transition between various duct diameters. Perfect for ventilation systems, kitchen and bathroom extractor fans, HVAC systems, and more. Manufactured in the UK, these reducers are durable and reliable for both residential and commercial applications.
Key Features
✔ High-Quality Galvanized Metal – Durable and resistant to wear and corrosion
✔ Male Spigots – Designed to fit inside round metal ducting for easy installation
✔ Made in the UK – Built to the highest standards for reliability
✔ Versatile Applications – Ideal for use in ventilation, air conditioning, HVAC, and heat recovery systems
Compatibility
- Compatible with most leading manufacturers of galvanized metal ducting
Performance
- Superior Airflow – Provides excellent airflow performance compared to flexible PVC or aluminum ducts
- Regulation Compliance – Meets Part F Building Regulations for ventilation
Installation
- Apply duct sealant to the male fitting
- Insert the male spigot into the female fitting
- Apply aluminium duct sealing tape over the joint to ensure an airtight seal
- Alternatively, self-sealing fittings can be used to speed up installation and allow easy dismantling
Insulation of Ductwork
- Cold Areas – Ducting located in cold areas (e.g., loft spaces) should be insulated with 25mm thick duct wrap, which has a thermal conductivity of 0.04W/(m.k) or less
- Warm Areas – Intake and exhaust ducts carrying cold air through warm spaces should also be insulated using the same 25mm duct wrap
- Building Control Compliance – Note that bubble wrap is no longer compliant with building regulations
